Art Companions

7x5" Oil on Gessobord panel (Click to enlarge.)
NFS - This painting has been gifted to a special friend-my brother, Mike.

Subject matter: This is the second of my artist's tools paintings. It's interesting to see what a change in the background color did to the look of the glass. Somewhere I read that you must continue to learn to avoid Alzheimers. If so, I should be safe because learning to paint is constantly stretching my brain.

Note to buyers: You do not need to open a Paypal account to buy with Paypal. As long as you have a credit card, you can purchase any of my paintings. Paypal merely handles the transaction, making it completely safe.

Linseed Bottle Blues

7x5" Oil on Gessobord panel (Click to enlarge)
Click to bid in the auction.
This is the first of two paintings I did depicting some of my tools. They are similar though the second one, which I will post next, has a different background and a few more tools. I'm finally getting a bit faster when doing some of these small paintings. It's so much fun to complete a painting in one day.

Old Florida Cottage

6x6" Oil on Gessobord panel (Click to enlarge.)
This is a 6x6" oil painting of an old Florida cracker style cottage, built somewhere between 1920 and 1935. It has its original hardwood floors and many other original features. The less renovation done over the years, the more appealing these homes are to me as an artist. Old homes speak to me and those of you who love them know what I'm talking about. (Sorry about the preposition at the end of this sentence but otherwise it would read: "...and those of you who love them know about what I'm talking." Now that is awkward! Try telling that to your high school English teacher! I know about which I'm talking because I used to be one.)

Note: You do not need a Paypal account to purchase any of my work. Though Paypal will handle the transaction, you can choose to pay using your debit or credit card. This option is offered below the log in to Paypal.

Curious Kitten

8x8" Oil on Gessobord (Click to enlarge.)
On Hold
The subject: Kittens are so incredibly cute and I think the most important thing that sets them apart from adult cats is their big ears in relation to their heads. I guess humans don't have this, though babies do have big heads. As for the butterfly, which wasn't in the original photo, it's called a "Blue." Apt name!

Curious Kitten framed
The frame: This painting has been framed and you can see the beautiful frame on it in the second photo.

I purchased this from King of Frame. They are very nice and helpful, and their frames are simply the best. For an extra fee, they will make most of their frames into floating frames for 1/8 inch panels.

Once you get the frame, you simply use a few dots of silicone glue and place the painting in the frame, working from the front of the frame. I weight mine down for a few hours after placing a piece of wax paper over the painting.
